Which book is best for my report?

You can't go wrong with Alexander Dumas, so the first two are good but lengthy. I love The Tale of Two Cities (really any ens) but you definitely want to brush up on your history to truly appreciate them. Where the Red Fern Grows will make you cry, read Robinson Crusoe if you want some adventure, and I haven't read the rest.
