This guy I have been dating stated he needed to be careful with me but he seems very interested, meaning?

I am a single mother and he has just has had a divorce within the past year. This is the first time I have let a guy into my daughters life and I really have intense feelings for him and as far as he goes he calls all the time and is wonderful as a person and with my little girl. What may be the underlying meaning into this? Or am I trying to read into something I need to just leave alone. He is leaving for Kuwait in 4 months and I am supporting this as much as I can, also I understand he may be scared to get into something so soon after being married already. Either way he is a great guy and Idon'tt want to get my hopes up for something that he may not be ready for.
